Occupational Therapists focus on promoting health and well-being through occupation. Occupation may be a job or task participation in the activities of everyday life.  In a skilled nursing facility, Occupational Therapists tailor their approach to each person. It is common for them to help residents develop skills for what are known as activities of daily living—self-care tasks such as feeding, dressing, grooming. They help enhance patient functionality through:

  • Education and training in areas such as dressing, bathing, eating, and grooming
  • Adaptive techniques or equipment to overcome physical disabilities
  • Strengthening and coordination exercises
  • Exercises to reduce effects of arthritis or other conditions to maintain normal joint movement

An Occupational Therapist is your guide to help you achieve your therapy goals no matter what they may be.

In recognition of National Occupational Therapy Month this April, Paragon Rehabilitation would like to recognize and thank our Occupational Therapists for their tremendous service!
