A Speech Therapist works to help increase a patient's ability to communicate (articulation, language, or voice) and/or perform cognitive tasks to increase independence in their living environment. Treatment plans are designed based on individual needs and may include:

  • Recovery of speech, language, voice
  • Memory and cognitive skills
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication, including programs for the hearing impaired
  • Oral muscle functioning and strength required for speaking and swallowing
  • Dysphagia management and diet recommendations

A Speech Therapist is also an expert in evaluating and treating swallowing disorders to help a patient achieve a safe diet level that supports nutrition and hydration.

In recognition of Better Hearing and Speech Month this month, Paragon Rehabilitation would like to recognize and thank our Speech Therapists for their hard work and outstanding dedication!
