Rehab Success Story: Don W.
Published on January 5, 2019
Here at Paragon, we believe that the right employees make the difference. A servant’s heart is the key to success, and for one resident of The Willows of East Lansing, that success came almost immediately after he was admitted.
Don Weinshank’s experience with rehab began shortly after he had an emergency procedure. He found himself incapacitated to the extent of requiring a lift in order to get in and out of bed. Flash forward to six weeks later, and Don was capable of standing, sitting, using his walker, getting in and out of his car, and generally being able to move his body. Here’s what Don’s wife, Annette, had to say about her husband’s journey at The Willows of East Lansing.
“What continued to impress me was the exceptional work environment. The staff was happy not only with what they were doing, but with the relaxed and informal relationships they clearly enjoyed – both with each other and with the administrative staff. I personally felt “at home” being Don’s advocate there.
The physical surroundings were outstanding. The facility is spacious, appealingly decorated and kept gleamingly clean. Don’s private room was comfortable and bright with enough seating for guests and we always had the option of chatting in the living-room-like lobby.
Finally, the kitchen operation was excellent. Don has a number of food restrictions, but he was always able to find menu options to tailor each meal. The dining room was a focal point – as shown by the residents who would appear 15 minutes early for each meal; each individually prepared according to what they had ordered.
The Willows well-deserves a five-star rating.”
Congratulations to Don on the strides he’s made towards achieving maximum independence! We hope that our gratitude for your patience and dedication has been reflected through the quality of our team.
